Midstream Landscape Development

Enhancing our surroundings. Creating a greener, more welcoming Midstream.

Midstream is embarking on an exciting landscape development project aimed at enhancing one of the estate’s most prominent entrance areas.

Through thoughtful landscaping, carefully selected indigenous trees and improvements to the surrounding green spaces, the project aims to create a more attractive, welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

As work gets underway, we look forward to sharing the transformation with our community.

Reimagining Our Entrance Landscape

The landscape development will focus on the area surrounding the security checkpoint and the Boulevard crossing, including the approach towards Brakfontein Boulevard.

The proposed design introduces a refreshed landscape with new planting, improved green spaces and carefully considered planting arrangements that complement the existing surroundings.

The intention is to create a distinctive entrance experience while maintaining the practical requirements of the area.

Before the Transformation

Every transformation has a starting point.

Before work begins, we’re documenting the existing landscape to showcase how this familiar part of Midstream will evolve.

The Vision: A Greener Midstream

The proposed landscape design brings together indigenous planting, attractive greenery and a coordinated approach to the estate’s entrance landscaping.

Indigenous Tree Planting

The project includes the planting of 18 Breede River Yellowwood trees, also known as South Africa’s indigenous conifers.

These trees have been selected for their upright, triangular growth habit and suitability for the intended planting areas. Their form will introduce a distinctive natural feature to the new landscape.

Two additional tree species have also been selected for specific positions within the new design.

Thoughtfully Planned Landscaping

The proposed layout incorporates a coordinated planting scheme to enhance the appearance of the roadway and surrounding green spaces.

Each planting area forms part of the broader vision to create an attractive, cohesive entrance landscape.

Project Timeline

Planned commencement: Monday, 9 November 2026

Estimated duration: 8–9 weeks

Anticipated completion: Early February 2027

The initial earthworks are expected to take approximately three weeks, followed by the remaining landscaping activities.

All dates are provisional and may change as work progresses.

What Residents Can Expect

While construction is underway, residents and visitors may experience temporary inconvenience when travelling through the security checkpoint and Boulevard crossing.

Construction personnel and vehicles will share portions of the roadway with normal traffic while the new landscape takes shape.

We kindly ask all road users to exercise caution, observe any temporary traffic arrangements and allow additional time when travelling through affected areas.

Your patience and cooperation will help ensure that the work can proceed safely.

Follow the Transformation
